Privacy Policy for Video Utility Lab
About this policy
Video Utility Lab is provided by Aktyva konsaltynh technologies. This policy describes how the Android app handles information when you import, edit, preview, and export videos or save images from video. Privacy questions may be sent to mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com.
Information accessed and stored
The app accesses videos you select through Android’s document picker, including their video and audio content. It reads file names, document locations, duration, dimensions, codec information, and file sizes to display your library and support editing.
The app stores workspace records in private app storage on your device. These records include references to imported videos and finished exports, their metadata, project names and dates, and editing settings such as trim points, rotation, audio removal, resolution, and bitrate. It also stores your preferred export bitrate, image format, selected image destination folder, and information needed to recover from an interrupted export.
The app retains document access permissions where Android and the selected document provider allow this, so that selected media and destinations can be accessed again. It uses access granted through the document picker rather than requesting broad access to your media library. The inspected app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or location permissions.
Local processing and collection
Video playback, trimming, rotation, audio removal, encoding, frame extraction, and thumbnail generation take place on your device. Temporary export media is written to the app’s cache before being copied to your chosen destination. Finished videos and images are saved in the files or folders you select.
The inspected implementation does not upload your media or workspace records to the developer, require an account, or implement developer-operated collection of usage data. No advertising, analytics, or remote crash-reporting SDK was identified in the inspected source and declared dependencies.
Purposes
The app uses this information to preview and edit selected media, inspect video details, produce MP4 videos and PNG or JPEG images, display imported sources and finished exports, reopen saved projects, remember preferences, and preserve editing settings when exports are interrupted. Importing or deleting a project does not modify the original source video.
Sharing and third-party components
When you choose Share, Android lets you select another app to receive a saved video or image. Video Utility Lab grants that app access to the selected file. The receiving app handles the file according to its own practices and privacy policy.
The app uses AndroidX Media3, including ExoPlayer and Transformer, for playback and media processing, together with Android and Compose components. No automatic transfer of media or workspace records to these library providers was identified in the inspected implementation.
Android’s document picker may offer third-party document providers. If you select a cloud-backed source or destination, that provider may download, upload, or synchronize files under its own settings and privacy policy. This is separate from the app’s on-device media processing.
Android backup is enabled in the app configuration. Depending on your device and backup settings, Android may back up or restore eligible app data through the platform’s backup service. Backup handling is governed by the applicable platform settings and provider policies.
Security
Workspace preferences are stored using Android’s private app storage. Access to selected documents is controlled through Android document permissions, and sharing grants the receiving app access to the selected file. Exported media is stored in your chosen destination and is subject to that destination’s access controls.
The app declares Internet permission, but no active developer-server upload or other network data collection was identified in the inspected application flow. No app-specific encryption mechanism was identified. Encryption during transfers performed by a document provider, backup service, or receiving app depends on that service. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.
Retention
Workspace records and preferences remain on your device across app sessions until deleted or the app’s data is cleared. The app does not implement a fixed expiration period for these records. Saved projects include automatically created export-recovery settings.
Temporary export files are scheduled for deletion when processing completes, is canceled, or fails. On reopening after an interrupted export, the app also attempts to remove the temporary export and incomplete destination file. Cleanup may fail if a destination is unavailable or access has changed.
Source videos and completed exported videos or images remain in their existing or selected locations until you delete them separately. Images already saved during a partially completed thumbnail sequence may remain even if processing stops.
Deletion and your choices
You can delete a saved project from the Projects screen. This removes its saved project record and preserves the source media. To remove all local workspace records and preferences, use Android’s app settings to clear the app’s storage. Uninstalling normally removes private app data, while eligible backup copies may remain subject to your platform backup settings.
Use your file manager or document provider to delete source media, exported videos, saved images, or incomplete files that remain. Clearing app data or uninstalling does not automatically delete files saved outside private app storage or copies shared with other apps. Manage backup copies through the relevant platform or provider settings.
For privacy or deletion questions, contact mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com. The inspected app has no server account or developer-hosted media repository, and the developer cannot remotely remove files stored on your device or held by a provider or recipient you selected.
Children’s privacy
No specific intended age groups were established by the supplied information. The inspected app does not implement child profiles, age collection, or a separate children’s data collection flow. Its local processing and user-directed sharing practices described above apply regardless of the user’s age. Contact the privacy email with concerns about a child’s information.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app or its data handling. Review the current policy when considering how the app handles your information.
